Enchanting Lavender Fields at 123 Farm

It’s lavender season because my Instagram is flooded with beautiful lavender field photos from Provence, France (totally on my bucket list!) I started to have major FOMO (fear of missing out) due to the fact that I cannot travel internationally because of COVID-19. When I found out the lavender field at the 123 Farm is open, I was so happy to visit it to satisfy my travel itch. 123 Farm is the largest certified organic lavender farms in Southern California with over 20 acres of lavender growing and has been around since 1854. It’s about 1.5 hours from Orange County, CA. This is where the Lavender Festival is hosted annual except for this year due to the pandemic. Walk through the lavender fields is open from June 6 to July 26, 2020.

We arrived at the 123 Farm about 15 minutes before our 10:30 A.M. ticket time slot. The 10 A.M. tickets were sold out so quickly. The 123 Farm is located at Highland Springs Ranch & Inn. When you first enter on the property, you will see the Marketplace on the right where they sell lavender products along with lavender-inspired food and beverages. They also sell lavender bouquet ($20 each) to use as a photo prop for your pictures. The lavender fields are straight ahead after you pass the Marketplace. You will have to show the staff your reserved tickets before you could head to the lavender fields. There were less than 15 people in the field when we arrived and everyone was scattered in the fields.

We walked through the lavender fields and learned about the different types of lavenders. The farm grows a few primary varieties of lavender such as Provence, Vera and Munstead. Lavender. Warning…there are a lot of bees and grasshoppers in the field. Also, watch out for snakes. Luckily, we did not see any snakes while we were there. I know someone who saw a gigantic snake that slithered across the pathway when she was there. Yikes!

Marketplace

We headed to the Marketplace after we were done walking through the lavender fields to check out the lavender products and purchased the fresh squeezed lavender lemonade. It was refreshing to drink, especially on a hot day. Overall, we had a wonderful time visiting the lavender fields. Can’t wait to come back when they have the Lavender Festival.
