I recently attended Knott’s Berry Farm on media preview night to sample new food items for the Boysenberry Festival. The event was held at the Wilderness Dance Hall after the park was closed. This year, Knott’s Boysenberry Festival runs for 31 day from March 29 – April 28, 2019. This event celebrates the flavorful berry with unique food, fun merchandise and special live entertainment.

With over 75 unique boysenberry food, drinks and treats, the best way to enjoy the tastes of the festival is with a food tasting card, which costs $35. You can receive up to 8 tastings of your choice from a selection of 14 dishes to sample the most popular boysenberry dishes in the park. The locations serving tasting card items are available throughout the entire day during the Boysenberry Festival.

My favorites were the elote, chicken wings, jambalaya, habanero baked mac and cheese and Yogurland’s boysenberry pie frozen yogurt. I also really enjoyed the boysenberry wine as there was a hint of aromatic with sweet fruits smell.

Knott’s Boysenberry Festival admission is included with regular park admission or a 2019 Knott’s Berry Farm Season Pass. Boysenberry is named after its originator, Rudolf Boysen, and is a cross between a loganberry, red raspberry and blackberry. The Knott family was the first to successfully harvest and sell the boysenberries on the land that is now known as Knott’s Berry Farm.
