Joshua Tree Bubble Tent Weekend Getaway

Do you want to experience a new way of camping under the stars? At the Joshua Tree bubble tent, you can have a night under the stars or take in the first rays of daylight on the horizon in the morning. This unique Airbnb is a great way to get as close to nature as possible.

Recently, my family and I spent our weekend at the Modern Stargazing Bubble-tent & House in Joshua Tree. This is probably one of the most unique Joshua Tree Airbnbs I’ve ever seen. There’s a main house with one bedroom, a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and one and a half bathrooms. This Airbnb can sleep up to 5 guests. The house comes with a bubble tent, which offers a unique experience to sleep under the stars. The bubble tent has a queen bed, sink, and toilet. Talk about a bucket list experience, laying in a cozy bed while enjoying the twinkling stars!

We arrived at the Airbnb around 6 P.M. while it was still light out. Joshua Tree National Park is approximately 2 hours from Orange County. I highly recommend arriving at the property before it gets dark as this property is pretty far down the dirt road, which is very dark and has no lights. We downloaded an offline map of the park from Google prior to the trip to help us navigate since cell phone service is limited.

Joshua Tree Bubble Tent House

The house is a ranch-style and beautifully furnished. It’s a perfect place to be with nature as it is completely off the grid and runs on a solar system with Tesla batteries to power the house. It is important to limit the use of electricity and turn off everything when you’re away from the house. The kitchen comes with stainless steel kitchen appliances and there’s a countertop ice maker that makes bullet ice cubes. The kitchen is minimally stocked with plates, cups, utensils, and a couple of pots and pans. I recommend you bring extra kitchen supplies to use if you have a few people in your group. There are plenty of soaps and paper towels to use. The Wi-Fi can be weak being next to the mountain and in a high desert area. We found the internet from our cell service was much faster than the Wi-Fi.

The bedroom comes with double sinks, a walk-in rain shower, a door that leads to the outdoor shower, a bidet toilet, and a queen bed with a bubble chair.

Outdoor Patio

The outdoor patio has lounge chairs, a table fire pit, a BBQ grill, a table set, and a cowboy hot tub. It’s a great place to enjoy a meal outside while overlooking the desert. The cowboy hot tub is heated by using a wood fire and it’s a perfect spot to relax.

The Bubble Tent

The bubble tent has a queen bed, loveseat, and a bathroom with a sink and toilet. It’s important to remember the zipper door should open only one door at a time. Do not open both zippers at the same time. The bed comes with a heated mattress but plan to start heating it about an hour prior to going to bed to allow enough time to warm the bed. The bubble tent is a perfect way to stargaze at night and watch the sunrise in the morning. It can get hot during the day staying inside the bubble tent, especially during the summer. This was not an issue for us as we explored Joshua Tree National Park during the day and did not stay in the bubble tent until the evening.

Overall, my family and I enjoyed staying in the bubble & house in Joshua Tree. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the desert and seeing wildlife such as rabbits running around in the backyard. We loved the fact that the host is committed to Airbnb’s 5-step enhanced cleaning process, which is a set of standards developed in partnership with experts, for the times of COVID-19 and beyond. It made us feel safe while staying at this unique Airbnb property. We look forward to returning to this property in the near future.
