Night of Lights OC is returning to OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. You will be guided through a mile-long drive-thru course filled with more than one million lights with themed holiday scenery, and interactive characters. The Night of Lights OC is an immersive event that allows everyone to safely experience the magic of the season from the comfort of their own car. The event runs from November 26, 2021 to January 02, 2022 in Costa Mesa, California.
This year, guests will enjoy many new themed experiences and immersive vignettes. Some of these experiences include a drive-in movie featuring classic holiday movies playing and strolling entertainers offering holiday favorite treats. Also, St. Nick greets guests through Christmas Eve. Plus, the return of the most popular vignette from last year with even more snow flurries to dust car windows. This year guests can bring new toys for boys and girls ages 1-15 to donate. The goal is to put a smile on the faces of more than 3,000 children in need in Orange County during Christmas with the donated toys.
The Experience
We attended the preview night of Night of Lights OC. When we arrived, we dialed into the specified radio station to experience the music and guided instructions for the clearly defined mile-long course. This is the first drive-thru we experienced that has two lanes to drive instead of one. You will be transported to a winter wonderland such as a snow globe, Icicle Playground, Luminary Village and inside an ornament. We saw animated light shows, special effects, a Christmas tree lighting spectacular and even Santa (available through Dec. 23rd). At the end of our journey, we received a small stocking, goodies, and a holiday picture.
You can even add pre-ordered food and merchandise to your ticket order for an easy pickup. These include holiday favorite treats such as hot cocoa, cinnamon sugar donuts and Mom’s Bake Shoppe cookie buckets and brownies.
