Things to do at Redondo Beach Pier

Redondo Beach Pier

My family and I always have a great time hanging out at the Redondo Beach Pier and enjoying the delicious fresh seafood. The Redondo Beach pier is located in Redondo Beach, California and stretches out into the Pacific Ocean. It is shaped like a horseshoe, which is supposed to give visitors the feeling they are on a turn-of-the-century sailing ship. There are many things to do while visiting.

Take a Stroll

Enjoy the view and fresh air as you walk around the pier.

Enjoy Fresh Seafood

There are plenty of restaurants that sell fresh seafood and my favorite one is Quality Seafood Inc. It’s a market and restaurant that sells fishes, crab, lobsters, clams, sea urchin, oyster, etc… In addition, the place serves other food such as clam chowder, ceviche, fish & chips, calamari and many more. You select the fish and/or shellfish and get it steamed, grilled or fried. While waiting for the seafood being cook, find a table and cover it with big roll of paper. Distribute the seafood over the table to enjoy with your family and friends. My family always order spider crab every time when we are here and have it steamed. Spider crab looks ugly, but the meat is sweet.

Kayaks /Paddle Boats

Rent a kayak or paddle boat to explore the harbor.

Whale Watching and Nature Cruises

Join aboard the 65 ft/45 passenger excursion vessel “Indian”  to experience the spectacular adventure of whale watching and nature cruises off the Palos Verdes Peninsula in the beautiful South Bay.

Fishing

No fishing license is required to fish at the pier. However, you must fish in the designated area.

Sea Lions Watching

Redondo Beach’s King Harbor is home to the sea lions. Try to find them from the pier.
